...the main reason why I wasn't going to bother was because I don't yet have a scanner. So scanning in a clean and clear image was going to be tricky. However thanks to my girlfriend who insisted I use her digital camera to 'capture' this image (black ink on tracing paper) I was able to at least take a picture of this Robot. After opening it with Photoshop I was then able to clean up the image -- which really meant removing any 'greys'. Once saved I imported this to Illustrator as a tiff file, and using the Trace' option, I was finally able to vectorise the linework...Pheeeuw!
